Natural Treatments for Healthy Curly Hair

While there are lots of good curly hair products on the market today, sometimes all you need is a good home recipe to nourish your hair back to life. The best thing is that these ingredients will not cost you much. You probably already have everything that you need at home. But please, always be sure you are not allergic to any of these natural ingredients.

Let's get to know some of the homemade recipes for your curly hair.


1.) Make a mask of olive oil, eggs, vinegar, and mayonnaise and apply it to your hair. Rinse with a mild shampoo after 30 minutes. While eggs provide protein to your hair, mayonnaise adds moisture and shine to the dry curls.


2.) Avocados are rich in vitamin B, E, and good fats. Mash a ripe avocado with a tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply this mask to your curly hair and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash off with a gentle shampoo.


3.) We all know how good coconut oil is for your hair. It deeply hydrates and strengthens hair while boosting its shine. You can apply it as an oil treatment for 15 - 20 minutes before rinsing, or as a natural leave-in conditioner.


4.) Aloe vera does a great job at hydrating your hair while also cleansing it from impurities, dirt, and product buildup. It's similar to a good cleansing conditioner but in a natural presentation. If you mix aloe vera with honey and coconut milk, you can also use it as a shampoo.


5.) Olive oil does wonders for particularly dry curls. It is way too heavy and greasy to use as a styling product, but it does a great job as an oil treatment. Leave it on your hair for 20 - 30 minutes before rinsing out.


6.) A healthy scalp is key to maintaining healthy bouncy curls. Try exfoliating your scalp once a week with homemade scrub. Add a tablespoon of sugar to your favorite shampoo and gently massage your scalp a few minutes before rinsing out. It helps clean away the dirt, buildup, excess oil, and dead skin cells.


Some other natural ingredients that you can use in your homemade recipes are apple cider vinegar, milk, flax seeds, banana, papaya, almond nut, lemon, yoghurt, rosemary, and hibiscus. They all represent great natural treatments to help you maintain healthy curly hair.
